As industry grows, the need for people who have successfully completed bachelors in Human Resources degree programs in Idaho also grows. Idaho has always had a strong agriculture industry, but other types of businesses are also seeing significant growth in the state. The nuclear research industry in the state has seen growth over the past few years, but one of the biggest increases has been in outdoor recreation. Data released in 2012 by the Outdoor Industry Association showed that 77,000 jobs had been added in the industry across the state compared to only 22,500 agriculture jobs. Cycling is growing in popularity in Idaho, with cities such as Boise creating more bicycle friendly areas.

As these industries grow and jobs are created, there is more need for professionals who are experienced in the needs of human resources in the organizations. Those who complete a bachelors in Human Resources degree program in Idaho will find more success in the field than those who do not hold such a degree. Boise State University

Boise State University, located in the capital of the state, provides students with access to government, business, arts, recreation and technology in order to help them succeed before and after graduation. College of Business and Economics

The College of Business and Economics at Boise State is designed for all types of students, whether they are seeking to advance in a current career, further their organization with business assistance programs or are seeking a career change. In 2012, the college moved into the Micron Business and Economics Building, a 119,000-square-foot facility with cutting edge classrooms, meeting spaces and technology. The mission of the College of Business is to provide high-quality learning through innovative academic programs with a focus on research and economic development.


Human Resource Management, B.B.A.

The Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management at Boise State is a 120-credit hour program designed for those entering the field of human resources. Some of the courses included in the program are:

  • The Legal Environment of Business
  • Human Resource Law
  • Employee and Labor Relations
  • Principles of Operations Management

In addition to major specific courses, students must take a variety of general education credits including writing, civics, science and math. Students may choose a double major in General Business and Human Resource Management. Students who choose the double major program may not count the following courses as part of their General Business major:
