Many of its students earn their degrees from other schools before enrolling in one of its grad programs. The university also offers professional programs that prepare students for launching careers in different fields once they graduate. Averett also offers an RN to BSN program for working nurses who already have their licenses. In addition to online classes, the university offers traditional classes on its Danville campus.

Strayer has a strong reputation for its business classes because it started out as a business school. Strayer students learn how to apply business principles and practices to HR topics. Though students typically focus on HR only, the university encourages students to take courses from the other MBA concentrations too, including project management and health services administration.
