Rutgers University offers four ways to study Human Resource Management in degrees that range from minors to graduate degrees. Available degrees include a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, a Master’s Advantage Plan option, a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, or a Minor in Human Resources. Degrees are offered from the university’s School of Management and Labor Relations and the Department of Human Resources Management. While enrolled in a degree program, students may participate in student-led groups like the Labor and Employment Relations Association or the Promote Overall Worker and Employer Relations group. There are also two chapters of the Society for Human Resource Management for undergraduate and graduate students. Rutgers offers some of its degrees online, but students must enroll in the school’s HR degree programs on campus.

Students who decide to enroll in the Bachelor’s Degree in HRM at Rutgers University will take courses like Staffing, Compensation & Rewards, Career Management, Training & Development, and Global HRM. The university also offers classes on special topics like diversity, economics, ethics, and conflict management. Students can transfer no more than three courses toward their earning of the degree. Students enrolled in other degree programs can choose the Minor in Human Resources Management, which requires that students complete six undergraduate-level human resources courses. Students must obtain a grade of C or better to earn credit toward their minor.

Students who already have a bachelor’s degree may want to consider the Master’s Degree in HRM, which requires that students complete at least 36 credits, which translates to 12 courses. Areas studied in the program include strategy, decision making, context areas, and functional areas as they relate to human resources. Students can add four electives to their graduate degree to customize the program to an area of their specific interest. Although students cannot complete their degree solely through online study, the university does offer a few classes online that include Introduction to Human Resources and Special Topics: Social Media for undergraduate students, and Human Resources Strategy and Financial Decisions for graduate students.

Rutgers also offers a Ph.D. program in Industrial Relations and Human Resources (IRHR) for students interested in teaching and/or research.

Organizations and agencies that have accredited programs at the university include the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, the American Psychological Association, and the Association of American Law Schools. Rutgers University Application Requirements

When a student applies to Rutgers University, he or she will indicate whether the application is for the Camden, Newark, or New Brunswick campus. Applying to the university as an undergraduate student requires the official application, payment of the application fee, a list of extracurricular activities, and a personal essay. The application fee is $70, and students may use the same online application to apply to all three Rutgers locations. Students may qualify for a fee waiver. Students must submit a Self-Reported Academic Record, which is a list of classes and grades earned up to the time of the student’s application.
