Human Resources Management at Trident University International

Options available in human resources management at Trident University International include a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management and a Master of Science in Human Resource Management, as well as a certificate. Both degrees are available online. Students who choose the bachelor’s degree in human resource management will need to complete at least 120 credits to earn their degree, which includes 52 semester credits of core courses and 16 credits of electives.


A handful of classes required in the program include Human Resource Management Law, Business Communication, and Global Human Resources Management. The university also has a dual credit option where students can take some credits for their graduate degree in HRM while also earning their bachelor’s degree. The dual enrollment option creates a less expensive option for earning a degree.

To enroll in the bachelor’s degree program, students must have a GPA of at least 2.0 in high school and have a diploma from an accredited high school or an equivalent such as a home school environment. Students from outside the United States must provide proof of English language proficiency. Students who want to transfer into the bachelor’s degree option must also have a 2.0 GPA for all college work the student seeks to transfer into the program.

For graduate students, the Master of Human Resource Management is also available in a 100 percent online format. According to the university, the degree’s curriculum was designed by adhering to the standards of the Society for Human Resource Management. To gain entry into the program, students must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and have a cumulative GPA in their undergraduate work of 2.5. Students aren’t required to take the GMAT or GRE to gain admission approval.

Some of the classes students will take while enrolled in the Master of Human Resource Management at Trident University International include Employment & Labor Relations, Performance Management & Training, Staffing, and Legal Implications in Human Resources. The overall program requires that students complete at least 36 semester hours.

Meanwhile, students who choose the certificate program also take graduate-level classes like those in the complete master’s degree plan, but the total number of credits required is only 16 credits rather than the full 36. Students who want to enroll in the Human Resource Management Graduate Certificate must meet the same enrollment qualifications as those for the graduate degree program.

Trident University International is a private school in California that offers associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, as well as some certificates. The university focuses on business, education, information systems, and health sciences. The institution was once part of Touro College but was purchased by a group known as Summit Partners in the mid-2000s.

Originally established in 1998, the school has grown to offer programs to around 6,100 students via online instruction. The headquarters of the university is in Cypress, California. Many of the students who attend the university are in the military or are veterans of the armed services. Trident University International Accreditation Details

Trident University International is regionally accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges Senior College and University Commission. Accreditation ensures students who attend the university and receive a degree can continue their studies at other accredited institutions, as well as transfer to and from the university while still progressing in their degree program.

The WASC Senior College and University Commission is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, which means that students may participate in the federal student loan program when they enroll in classes at Trident University International. Students may also use their military education benefits at an accredited university, which can mean significant reductions in the overall cost of attending the university.

Trident University International Application Requirements

When students apply to Trident University International, the university will keep the student’s application on file for one year. The university accepts applications on a year-round basis. Students aren’t required to submit resumes, essays, or letters of recommendation unless they are interested in a doctoral program at the university. There are no application fees for bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, but doctoral applicants will pay a $75 application fee.

Students must submit official transcripts as part of the application process and can provide unofficial copies of their transcripts to gain initial application approval. However, formal admission letters aren’t sent out until the student has provided official transcripts. Students must also complete the official application when applying to Trident University International. Students with military training are eligible to submit their training transcripts.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition is based on a student’s course of enrollment at Trident University International and his or her degree level. Certificate and diploma programs for non-degree seeking students vary from $1,158 to $1,900 per course for the standard rate. The military rate is set at $975 per class for eligible programs. Associate’s degrees are $405 per credit for the standard rate, $320 for veterans of the armed services, and $250 for active-duty military and their immediate family members.

Bachelor’s degrees feature the same tuition rate as associate’s degrees. Master’s degrees are $540 per credit for the standard rate, $405 for retired military, and $325 for active-duty military. Doctoral students will pay $725 for the standard rate, $650 for the retired military rate, and $625 for the active-duty military rate. Some students may also need to pay lab fees of $25 to $69 per class.

Students can choose to participate in the federal student loan program by submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid, which may allow the student to receive federal student loans or use veteran’s education benefits through federal programs. The university also offers students the chance to earn grants and scholarships with some scholarships and grants offered solely to members of the U.S. military or veterans of the armed services.

For example, students may apply for the Military Success Scholarship, which is offered to undergraduate and graduate-level students who are active duty, Reserve, or National Guard members who have already used their annual tuition benefits. Another program is the Trident Alumni Scholarship, which offers newly enrolled alumni of the Trident University International a 15 percent reduction in tuition when they pursue degrees in business analytics.
